The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will assist in clinical study initiation, patient recruitment and retention, and overall study management from a medical/scientific standpoint. The MSL will act as the representative for our Client, ensuring smooth progress of the ongoing clinical trial and patient enrollment. This role involves supporting Medical Affairs and Clinical Development objectives for a range of upcoming products. The MSL will act as a crucial link with clinical trial sites throughout all development programs, collaborating closely with Clinical Development and Clinical Operations.Requirements:The ideal candidate will thrive in a biotech setting, embracing ambiguity, and showcasing conceptual flexibility and innovative thinking. They should be scientifically, strategically, and operationally proficient, a strong collaborator internally and externally. Previous experience and advanced knowledge in Neurosciences and Sleep Disorders are preferred.Main Responsibilities:Clinical Trial SupportRepresent the Client to aid in scientific and operational aspects of sponsored trials.Liaise with investigators interested in forming research collaborations.Engage with clinical investigators to support sponsored studies.Collaborate with the study team to address site-related challenges that may hinder study commencement, progress, and patient participation, and develop solutions as needed.Provide education to referral networks to boost trial recruitment rates.Assist healthcare providers in identifying patients, enhancing service delivery, and promoting patient adherence.Scientific ExpertiseStay updated on the latest scientific research and clinical data relevant to the focus molecule/drug.Attend and offer Medical Affairs support at scientific conferences.Support internal stakeholders by providing expert knowledge.Provide accurate and non-promotional scientific information regarding the scientific rationale and study criteria of Client's sponsored studies to specific sites.Respond to medical queries, especially those related to clinical trial design/rationale, from PIs/study site team members using approved resources.Ensure efficient management of information requests from PIs and timely communication of these requests to relevant teams.Establish strong communication channels with PIs, study physicians, and their teams to facilitate scientific exchange on diseases and clinical trial requirements.Assist in identifying potential investigators for clinical advisory boards.Opinion Leader EngagementIdentify, establish, and nurture clinical and scientific relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), including individual physicians and researchers.Support sites in creating referral networks through relationship building, scientific involvement, and educating local HCPs about clinical trials.Cultivate peer-to-peer relationships with KOLs.Deliver clinical presentations and educational materials in academic, community, and healthcare settings.Identify HCPs with eligible patients for ongoing or planned trials and establish relationships with them (i.e., potential future KOLs, sites, referring MDs, etc.), aligning strategies with cross-functional teams.Share insights related to PI interests in publications, publication planning, or potential Investigator Initiated Trials (IITs) with stakeholders.Collaborate with external experts on generating scientific data, including investigator-initiated studies.Cross-Functional SupportRespond to unsolicited requests for medical/scientific information as needed.Gather insights from KOLs and promptly report back to the company to aid in clinical and commercial strategy development.Participate in national and/or international medical and scientific meetings to stay informed about industry advancements and build connections with potential investigators.Represent the Client at sponsored events in collaboration with the Patient Advocacy team to raise awareness about the company, clinical trials, and dedication to enhancing patient lives.Stay abreast of the latest scientific research and clinical data relevant to the focus drug/molecule.Address scientific inquiries from distributors/internal colleagues.Develop and provide scientific training to PIs/Commercial team members.ComplianceOperate ethically and adhere to all laws, regulations, and policies.Complete mandatory training within set timelines, including new policies, SOPs, and guidance.Essential Skills, Knowledge, and ExperienceMinimum BSc (or equivalent) in a life science or healthcare field.
