Postdoc position in the theory of quantum cryptography ICFO - The Institute of Photonic SciencesICFO is offering a postdoctoral position to a well-qualified, highly motivated and dynamic young scientist who wishes to enhance his/her scientific career in a friendly and stimulating environment. The successful candidate will be joining the Quantum Information Theory group led by Prof. Dr. Antonio AcÃn and will be working within the project QSNP. It consists of a consortium of research institutes, industry, small to medium-sized enterprises and start-ups from six EU member states, and the main goal is to develop quantum cryptography applications. The researcher will propose new or improve existing quantum key distribution protocols, study their security and possible photonic implementation. Candidates must hold an internationally-recognized Ph.D.-equivalent degree (or evidence of its completion in the nearest future) preferably in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics. The candidate should have a proven track record of quantum information theory and knowledge in theoretical aspects of quantum cryptography. ICFO is an equal opportunity employer. The contract is offered for a period of 3 years.
