The Centre for Nutrition Research at the University of Navarra has opened a process of selection of one full-time researcher for the next coming months.
We are looking for internationally oriented, enthusiastic and experienced candidates with an excellent research record, capable of complement and enhance the current research lines of the Centre.
We are offering full-time employment in a research-oriented university that carries out both fundamental and applied scientific research.
Candidates should be successful research leaders who like to work in an innovative and dynamic working environment and want to create successful collaborations with external research and industrial partners and have a focus on both basic and applied research.
The Centre for Nutrition Research is a basic-applied centre devoted to develop excellence research but with a clear focus on applicability and transfer of medium-term results :
Perform excellence research on topics related to Nutrition and Health and, more specifically, to obesity and associated comorbidities.Transfer to industry, mainly to the food and pharmaceutical sectors, research results as well as knowledge of the Centre researchers in order to improve productivity and support the development of new food and nutraceutical products.Providing industry with services related to the areas of nutrition, dietetics, and food in general.Responsibilities and tasks
Candidates will : be responsible for the implementation of basic and applied research within their areas;establish synergies between their own research and other related research activities;maintain a strong national and international network of contacts with leading research groups, as well as pursuing industrial contacts within the food industry;be capable of effective knowledge exchange with society and industry;attract external research grants from industry, national and international sources.PhD in Health Sciences (e.g. Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Nutrition ) or related (e.g. Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence )
International post-doc in a well-recognised international Research Centre (minimum 24 months).
Strong research profile in one or more of the following fields :
Identification of mechanisms and targets involved in the regulation of metabolic diseases
Biomarkers : study of the interactions between life-style factors (e.g. nutrition) and the genome for defining biomarkers of response, diagnosis and / or prognosis.Bioactive compounds : research on functional compounds with possible application in functional foods or nutraceuticals for the prevention of diseases (e.g. obesity, diabetes , fatty liver, cardiovascular diseases,).
Precision Medicine.
Competence in big-data management and AI / advance statistics related to omics data
Ability for team working and leadership capacities.
Ability to identify problems and opportunities for research.
Results orientation. Ability to work with industry (pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food) ant to valorise research outputs.
