The firm provides clients worldwide with customised service and a level of excellence that have become the firm's hallmark in three primary practise areas—coastal, environmental, and water resources; ports and harbours; and transportation, bridges, and rail. Duties and responsibilities: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Work closely with stakeholders, mainly terminal operators, to identify and prioritize requirements for the software product.Collaborate with the Product Manager to co-develop the product mid and long-term roadmap.Works with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, design/user experience and engineering.Gather insights into current pain points, operational inefficiencies, and desired features, translating them into actionable product requirements.Collaborate with product managers, designers, and developers to conceptualize and design software solutions that align with the needs of container terminals.Provide input on user interface (UI) design, feature prioritization, and functionality, ensuring that the product meets industry standards and addresses specific terminal requirements.Validate the software product against real-world scenarios and use cases prevalent in container terminals.Ensure that the product meets performance, reliability, and usability standards expected in terminal operations.Contribute to the creation of documentation, user manuals, and training materials to support the adoption and use of the software product within container terminals.Provide insights and recommendations for enhancing the software product over time, identifying opportunities for new features, functionality improvements, and integrations with emerging technologies.Serve as a point of contact for terminal operators and end-users, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and gathering feedback on the software product's performance and usability.Collaborate with the customer support team to ensure timely responses to user queries and to incorporate user feedback into future product iterations.Bridge the gap between technical development and industry-specific requirements, contributing to the successful delivery of software solutions that meet the needs of terminal stakeholders. Other duties: Please note this job posting is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice. Qualifications: Bachelor of Science or equivalent.At least 10 years of experience in the container maritime terminal sector.At least 2 years of experience in the IT department of a container terminal, with the ability to understand the systems used, with particular emphasis on TOS.At least 8 years of experience in the operations department of a container terminal, with special emphasis on knowledge of the planning and execution of operations processesProficient in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.). At NextPort we work in an agile development environment and the Terminal Subject Matter Expert must have experience in collaborating with data and engineering teams, and a high degree of proficiency in prototyping and iterative development.Training and Certification related to Software Dev Agile methodologies.A balance of technical knowledge and business acumen.Proactive, self-starter with excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment.High degree of organization, individual initiative, and personal accountability.All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171 Working conditions: Sedentary for prolonged period of time, interact with clients, and travel occasionally.
