The Proposals Engineer Intern will work in collaboration with the Sales / Product / Engineering / Software / Execution teams to build a winner technical & commercial proposal with associated contractual conditions. This is a highly networked role that requires an ability to work under pressure and to challenging deadlines.DTN Business Area:The Proposal Engineer Intern will work in DTN Weather Systems, which is focused on providing solutions to efficiently collect, manage and disseminate local Weather & Environmental information to support our customers in their operational needs.Core Tasks:- Interpret enquiries and requests for quotations to have an initial understanding of the customer's requirements.- Analyze Request For Proposal / Quotation / Invitation to Tender (RFP/RFQ/ITT).- Contribute to identify and qualify the opportunity.- Contribute to define the most suitable technical solution according to DTN business model and solutions portfolio, in collaboration with Sales / Product / Engineering / Software / teams and build the costing analysis accordingly.- Contact to suppliers/subcontractors to request quotations against specifications and T&C's.- Enhance & consolidate quotes to reach target price while avoiding rejection and margin slippage.- Coordinate and receive input from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from Sales / Product / Engineering / Software / Execution Teams as well as Finance and Legal Depts.- Produce and deliver compliant, professionally produced proposals including a comprehensive and well-organized set of documentation with prices, commercial conditions, comments and deviations, technical descriptions and other kind of documentation to be submitted to customer at defined deadline.- Initiation to the tender risk analysis involving relevant internal stakeholders.- Initiation to manage the approval process before the tender submission.- Support the Business Development Manager during customer negotiations and closing of the deal.- Handover the Project to the Execution Team when it has resulted in a Contract / Purchase Order.Skills & Competences:- Strong time management / prioritization skills.- Strong English language skills.- Excellent attention to detail.- Ability to communicate efficiently by listening and sharing information with internal team members and external customers.- Ability to take the necessary steps to overcome obstacles and push goals.- Ability to maintain high levels of energy in a fast-paced environment.- Ability to stay calm and work effectively under pressure.**Qualifications**:Engineering Degree (Industrial, Telecommunication, Aerospace)Why DTN?OUR VISION: To be the independent, trusted source of insights to our customers who feed, protect, and fuel the world.OUR MISSION: Empower our customers with intelligent and actionable insights that exceed their expectations and enable their success on a daily basis.OUR VALUES: Customer-Focused, Forward-Thinking, People-Centric, Solution-OrientedAt DTN, we are an equal opportunity employer.
