Detalles de la oferta

Universidad de Deusto - Investigación Descripción de la oferta General call for Grants allocated to research projects or groups to pursue Doctoral Studies. Quantum Lab, DeustoTech, at the University of DeustoQuantum computing is important for several reasons, as it represents a paradigm shift in the way we process information. Here are some key reasons why quantum computing is considered important: a) Parallelism: Classical computers process information using bits, which can exist in one of two states, 0 or 1. Quantum computers use quantum bits or qubits, which can exist in multiple states simultaneously (superposition). This allows quantum computers to perform parallel computations, potentially solving certain problems much faster than classical computers. b) Exponential Speedup: Quantum computers have the potential to provide exponential speedup for certain types of calculations. Algorithms designed for quantum computers could solve complex problems, such as factoring large numbers or searching large databases, exponentially faster than the best-known algorithms on classical computers. c) Solving Complex Problems: Quantum computers are particularly promising for solving complex problems in fields such as cryptography, optimization, material science, drug discovery, and artificial intelligence. For example, they could efficiently simulate the behavior of molecules for drug discovery or optimize complex systems that classical computers struggle with. d) New Approaches to Computing: Quantum computing introduces novel ways of thinking about and approaching computational problems. Quantum algorithms and quantum machine learning could open up new possibilities and insights, leading to advancements in various scientific and technological domains. While quantum computing is still in its early stages of development and faces significant technical challenges, its potential impact on various fields makes it an area of intense research and investment with multiple applications in the healthcare sector. As quantum computers continue to advance, they may revolutionize the way we solve problems and process information in the future. The hypothesis for this research is that it is possible to improve artificial intelligence models using quantum computers compared to the use of classical computers. This will be applied to different case studies using medical reports and structured data in the healthcare sector. Title of the project to be incorporated:Quantum Lab (DeustoTech) at the University of Deusto PI and/or project manager:Begoña García-Zapirain Soto Endowment and duration of the contract:25,973.10 €/year2 years Funding Entity:Project: PLAN DE IMPULSO DE ÚLTIMAS TECNOLOGÍAS DE COMPUTACIÓN CUÁNTICA Requisitos Qualifications required:Qualifications: Enrolled as PhD student (priority) or Master.Experience required: Data science, artificial intelligence, medical reports, NLP analysis, scientific writing experience, quantum machine learning basics.
