col-wideJob Description:**The Role**We are currently recruiting for an experienced Fresh Produce QA & Technical Manager for our client a Global Fresh Produce Business based in Almeria in Spain. Working predominantly for 6 months in Almeria throughout the Autumn into Spring and around Murcia and Alicante throughout May - September months including travel to Canary Islands, Tenerife and Morocco.You will be self-employed with your own car, bi-lingual in Spanish and English have experience of working within both a Quality and Technical background within Fresh Produce. The role will require you to travel between the suppliers advising and managing the quality of the products and reporting findings back to both the Spanish & UK Team and will require you to meeting with suppliers to build mutually beneficial relationships with growers, breeders, and customers in order to drive the business forward for the benefit of all interested parties**Key Accountabilities of the role**- Assist the Group Technical Director in product safety, quality and legality.- Create an on-going dialogue with the suppliers you are visiting to ensure that you are aware of the current supply and potential issues and communicate these as appropriate to the Iberian peninsula QA manager- Assist in ensuring all of our clients quality and commercial targets are met for product procured from the Iberian Peninsular- Ensure operational excellence by helping maintain a culture of efficiency, individual responsibility and effective communication- Deputize for Iberian Peninsula and Morocco QA & Technical Manager as required. Provide cover for Managers in Spain/Portugal/Morocco for all aspects of their job as necessary.- Ensure regular and ongoing feedback to our clients colleagues on product quality to allow for continuous improvement.- Through continuous improvement facilitate and support the development of processes to deliver improved KPI performance- Provide Training of Suppliers QA ( packhouse & Intake ) and of our clients QA's**Daily Role Requirements**- Monitor shelf life and residency times to make sure that the team are informed of any issues and concerns for all products- Ensure that the customers required quality standards are understood by the suppliers and effectively maintained and communicated at all times.- Effectively liaise and communicate on day to day quality issues with suppliers in the Almeria and Murcia area.- Carry out QA inspections and label checks at suppliers pack houses in Spain and Morocco to ensure that product is being packed to our clients specifications.- Ensure that the correct varieties and products are being used at all times on the different commodities.- Provide recommendations to ensure that the correct products and batches are being used at all times. This can be depot specific if required- Supervise correct product utilisation and close monitoring of stock levels and quality- Monitor sites standards during your normal activities and feedback any concerns to the technical teams- Assist in the preparation of samples and conduct trials as required.- Assist in maintaining the BRC, TFS, Organic and Ethical standards on site and share involvement during audits as required.- Provide information required for new lines and on new varieties- Assist with supplier + customer visits when needed.- Liaise with the Technical Manager production on new packaging and packing formats.- Lead the sustainability projects in Spain by assisting the Sustainability Developing Manager and arrange the grower profiles updated for the EFC.- Investigate the reasons for all rejections and report outcome and CAP to the technical team as required in due time.- Assist in completing the end of season reviews documenting overall quality, improvements required, ranking and next steps within two weeks of the last arrivals have been packed through.- Carry out checks at TFS packhouses particularly in Almeria and Murcia but also in other regions of supply related to documents and audits controls and produce a summary report for it.**If you have the experience that we are looking for then please register your interest with us today and send over your CV in English for consideration for this role.****Salary**: 40,000.00€ - 65,000.00€ per yearWork Location: One location
