.About the roleThe European Corporate Ratings Diversified Industries team of Morningstar DBRS is seeking a highly motivated individual with a minimum of two years of relevant experience in corporate credit analysis, research, or investment banking and a strong interest in the Diversified Industries sector to join the team in Madrid as a Senior Analyst.Working closely with various of the lead analysts in the diversified industries sector along with other members of the team, the successful candidate will be responsible for assistance in the maintenance of market-leading coverage of this sector.The role involves supporting lead analysts assessing the creditworthiness of an existing portfolio of diversified industries companies and working on new rating mandates.This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Sector Lead of the European Diversified Industries team.Job ResponsibilitiesPerform company and industry research, financial statement analysis, prepare forecasts and assess management strategy to inform rating recommendations.Assist in the preparation of rating committee materials and contribute to rating committee presentations.Assist in / produce timely, high-quality rating reports, press releases and commentaries on rated entities and industry sector trends.Review legal documentation related to credit analysis and, in particular, credit agreements, note purchase agreement and other debt issuance related documents to understand terms and conditions, priority, etc.Contribute to the development and refinement of existing rating methodologies.Develop relationships with issuers, investors, intermediaries, and other stakeholders.Adhere to rigorous regulatory requirements, including detailed record-keeping, training, and compliance with DBRS Morningstar policies and procedures.QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of relevant experience in credit, finance, banking and / or consulting with experience in the above noted sector a significant positive.Solid knowledge of IFRS / US GAAP accounting.Strong research and analytical skills, with great attention to detail.Effective communication skills, both oral and written.Strong inter-personal skills.Self-starter and strong team player, with the ability to meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and producing high quality work.Bachelor's and / or Master's degree in commerce, business, economics, or other relevant discipline.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power PointExperience in assessing public and private debt issuance documents is a material benefit.About UsMorningstar DBRS is a leading provider of independent rating services and opinions for corporate and sovereign entities, financial institutions, and project and structured finance instruments globally.Rating more than 4,000 issuers and 60,000 securities, it is one of the top four credit rating agencies in the world
