Key Tasks and ResponsibilitiesAs part of the team working on GAIA mission, you will have the following responsibilities:Working on an astronomical precision-astrometry mission developing;Maintaining software and algorithms in a multi-national environment;Developing new software to support space mission needs;Maintaining existing project software;All phases of the software cycle: specifications, preliminary designs, development, integration, testing and final release of production software.Skills & ExperienceYou will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:Master's degree or equivalent qualification in Computer science, Space Systems Engineering, Physics or related specialization;Experienced Numerical JAVA programmer;Knowledge of Gaia or at least astronomy;Experience with Linux;Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to present and effectively communicate quality system processes;Results orientated and good relationship management;Good organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work in a diverse team environment;Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
