BASIC FUNCTIONS:Under the supervision of the VP of Development & Golf Superintendent, the Supervisor of Landscape Construction and Maintenance will coordinate the management of landscape installation and activities associated with horizontal projects from initial construction to completion. Supports serving as the owner's representative and manages the quality and schedules of projects to meet company goals.REQUIRED EDUCATIONHigh school degree required.Have intermediate knowledge for the use of Cad, 3dCad, and MS Office packages.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, ABILITIES and/ or SKILLSKnowledge & experience with inclined to infrastructure, facilities and earthworks.Basic communication in English, expected an average of 65% in integral communication (read, write and comprehend).Must have the ability to take responsibility and make independent decisions to complete job.Must have valid driver's license.Must be able to maintain productive working relationships with employees, managers, and contractors, and ability to work without direct supervision.Must be able to operate and/or drive all equipment pertinent to the landscape operation. 5-10 years Supervisory experience.Ability to set priorities and adapt to changing conditions.Computer literate. Proficient in MS Word and Excel.The ability to direct staff and embrace the company philosophy at Chileno Bay.Must be able to think constructively and solve problems.Ability to set priorities and adjust to changing conditions.Excellent human relation skills. Must have ability to lead by example through his/her work habits and mannerisms.Ability to work effectively and organized to accommodate increased workload/projectsAbility and preference for working in a team orientated setting and interacting with several departments.RESPONSABILITIES OF THE POSITION:Landscaping:Responsible for daily scheduling, supervision and follow-up for all ornamental landscape maintenance and construction.Confers with the Development Team & the Golf Superintendent to outline work plan, responsibilities, and scope of authority.Implementation of Integrated Pest Management Program.Management and design of landscape irrigation system.Preparation of project reports for management as required.Coordinate landscape activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies.Personnel management including safety, discipline according to company policy.Coordinate various landscape maintenance renovation and drainage projects.Manage the ordering of all supplies.Supervise outside landscape contractors including: The Bid Process, Daily Management according to Chileno Bay Standards, Working with the Chileno Bay Associations on ensuring quality and satisfaction.Oversee in coordination with supervisors; the design, purchase, and installation of all tools, equipment, and supplies for the Landscape Department.Weekly scheduling of Landscape activities and contract service providers.Attend all relevant operational/development meetings.Complete weekly and monthly reports as required.Coordinate with management on any community relations endeavors.Assist with any special projects as assigned by management.Actively monitor work to ensure standards of operation constantly meet or exceed the presently established guidelines.Effectively communicate and coordinate operational activities with key relationships in all areas of the club.Inspect outlets on a daily basis prior to opening and again at closing to ascertain any maintenance, repairs or additional cleanup needs.Meticulous record keeping of all equipment and repair schedules.Provide as-built drawings for all projects.The absence a formal stewarding and banquet set up department will facilitate the need for Landscaping to assist in the set up and breakdown of catered functions. This includes but is not limited to: tables, chairs, chaffing dishes, grills, woks, china, glass and silver.Participate in coordination and assistance as required relating to on-going landscape construction activities. Scope to include review of plans, specifications, and interface with project manager, designers and contractors to ensure quality control, and completion according to budgets and schedules.Construction:Multitask and manage a variety of projects in a rapidly growing projectManaging all phases of projects (construction, close out and post construction)Assist in due diligence to the SuperintendentLead in site supervision.Assist in coordination with contractors, security, HOA, and other CBC Departments.Review the work progress on daily basis.Work with team members to develop and initiate various project solutions.Help establish strategic direction for each project in terms of program and phasing.Assist supervisors in managing project Meeting Agendas, Minutes, RFI's, Submittals, etc.Review and negotiate contractor construction agreements with the assistance of in-house CBC Development Staff.Review deliverables to ensure quality, consistency, and impactPrepare presentations, reports, analysis, and information packets at various stages in the development process to help drive decisionsProvide regular updates regarding progress on projectsPlan to prevent problems and resolve any emerging onesAnalyze, manage, and mitigate risksEnsure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniquesOrganize and draft monthly updates with the horizontal development team.Observe construction projects with goal of proactively identifying issues and recommend solutionsUpdating project forecasts for schedule.About Discovery Land Company:Founded in 1994 by Michael S.
