What to expect: At Bertrandt, a leading organization in aerospace and automotive innovation, we are seeking a Systems Engineer with expertise in modeling and simulation to join our Model-Based Engineering (MBE) team.The ideal candidate will have experience using Simulink and HDL Coder for the development and generation of VHDL, specifically for control systems in aerial refueling platforms.This role involves working on the specification, design, and simulation of control systems for refueling operations,with a focus on VHDL code generation for integration by the software team.Main responsibilities:-Design and model control systems for the aircraft aerial refueling boom using Simulink and generating VHDL code through HDL Coder.-Develop control algorithms for both closed-loop and open-loop systems (PID, Kalman Filters, etc.) for new functionalities or enhancements to existing ones, ensuring precise and safe refueling operations.-Ensure that Simulink models are capable of generating optimized and error-free VHDL code, interpreting and correcting findings from the Model Advisor.-Collaborate with the software team for the integration of generated VHDL code into the overall system, ensuring maximum efficiency and performance.-Participate in the development of software design specifications (SDD), system requirement documentation (SRD), and modeling guidelines to comply with DO-331 and DO-254 standards.-Utilize tools such as IBM DOORS for requirement management and traceability throughout the project lifecycle.-Contribute to the growth and development of the Model-Based Engineering team, staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in modeling and simulation in a multi-project context within our MBE team.
