What does a great Technical Product Manager do? The Technical Product Manager (TPM) role in the Access UI Pillar sits within the Technology organization and represents the customer on the Agile team. It is the Technical Product Manager's responsibility to ensure the team is focused on the right work and priorities and to help the team achieve their sprint commitments by providing clear and complete requirements. What is MyTravelport? MyTravelport is a customer-facing application based on a React/Java Tech stack which is envisioned to be the gateway into the Travelport universe.
It is at the heart of our mission to build a smarter digital self-service platform that connects all our products, services, and content into one seamless experience. MyTravelport is the hub where customers manage their business and find answers to all questions.
Responsibilities: Generates strategic insights to drive the present and future of the product by conducting market research, understanding business needs, and analyzing feedback from customers and metrics.Is the champion of the customer needs within the delivery team. Accountable and contributes to the product Vision and Roadmap.Conveys 'Why' and contributes to the 'How".Collaborates with Product Manager/s, engineering, and UX for feature readiness and prioritization. Accountable for synchronizing with the Product Manager/s and other TPM's to ensure new work is brought into the backlog and prioritized appropriately.Partners with the delivery team to have a healthy backlog and own prioritization. Responsible for feature refinement into stories by collaborating with the agile team, design, and other stakeholders to align the product design and development activities to deliver ROI.Responsible for ensuring everyone in the team understands the user story and is aligned in the sprint. Accountable to achieve the outcome with the team.Accountable for coordinating with the product delivery team(s) and design colleagues to ensure the required activities are delivered to sufficient/agreed quality, time, and budget. Manages change effectively by communicating with stakeholders and users and reviewing training needs. Participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning meetings, and sprint reviews. Accountable for User Acceptance Criteria & Sign Off. Accountable for reviews and demos. The TPM will develop deep functional product knowledge and an understanding of the technical composition of systems that support it.What do we look for/who would prosper in this role? 1 –3 years of Technical Product Manager, Product Owner and/or Business Analyst experience. Working knowledge of Agile principles.Obsessed with customer feedback and delivering customer value.Familiarized with working with Objectives and Key results framework and using a metric-driven approach.Exposure to technical concepts,product owner techniques, tools & principles. Exposure to Behavior Driven Development. Technical/Developer background is a plus.Experience with working on customer research/feedback tools such as Fullstory, Userzoom & Appinsight. Excellent verbal, written and 'attention to detail skills. Ability and desire to work with people all over the world. Excellent collaboration skills and ability to influence cross-functional teams and facilitate. conversations that lead to an agreed direction. Capacity to seek consensus and agreement across multiple stakeholders, bringing diverse opinions together.
