TECHNICIAN IN CANCER RESEARCH (REF.:2024/53) Reference: 2023/54 Deadline: 18/05/2024 JOB DESCRIPTION: IGTP Childhood Liver Oncology Group is looking for a technician in Cancer Research. The candidate will integrate in a collaborative project together with IDIBAPS with the aim of understanding molecular mechanisms driving Hepatoblastoma (HB). HB is the most common paediatric liver cancer, and currently there are limited therapeutic options for children with aggressive tumours. To identify main players in the acquisition of cancer stem cell phenotype we aim to use patient-derived organoids as in vitro model of HB. The candidate will participate in the characterization and gene editing of patient-derived liver HB organoids as well as the generation of organoid-derived xenograft. In addition, he/she will be responsible for the evaluation of HB organoid tumorigenic potential and drug response. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCIE: Essential job requirements: Degree in biomedicine or related disciplines. Experience in cell culture and animal handling. Competencies and skills: Communication, Teamwork and collaboration, Commitment, Proactivity, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking. Good level of English. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: The applicant will work under the supervision of IP. She/He will carry out the following research activities: Generate and expand the collection of organoids derived from patients. Define organoid-derived xenograft using immunosuppressed mice. Generate genetic engineered patient-derived organoids through CRISPR/CRISPRi system. Employ organoids for drug testing. WHAT WE OFFER: Full-time contract. Date of incorporation: As soon as possible.
