Your mission The Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (IJC) is a non-profit research institute based in Barcelona dedicated to advancing the understanding of leukemia and related disorders, in collaboration with the University of Barcelona and the Autonomous University of Barcelona. The IJC has laboratories in 5 clinical campuses: i) Hospital Clínic, ii) Hospital de Sant Pau and iii) Hospital Germans Trias Pujol iv) Hospital del Mar and v) Hospital Josep Trueta Girona. IJC serves as a collaborative center for basic researchers and physicians to work together on fundamental clinical and biological aspects of leukemia. We are looking for a highly motivated L aboratory Technician to work in the fields of epigenetics, aging, and cancer through the study of the family of NAD+-dependent enzymes, named Sirtuins. The successful candidate has the opportunity to build her/his professional skills at the intersection of distinct fields, including epigenetics, aging and immunology. Her/his work will help in advancing the development of new therapeutic strategies to delay the onset of aging and the development of aging-related diseases and cancer. Among them, these strategies may have a strong impact in leukemia treatment. Responsibilities: Study the SIRT7-NPM-c-Myc regulatory axis in lung cancer cells and mouse tumors through a combination of biochemistry, molecular biology, genomics, proteomics, and cell biology. Analyze the contribution of SIRT7 to NPM and Myc genomic distribution through ChIPseq and RNAseq analysis in cancer cells. Maintenance and handling of the SIRT7-KO mouse colony. Your profile BSc in Biology, Biomedicine, or similar. A high level of motivation and interest.
