NPosition Type Non-Management JOB SUMMARY The auditor is responsible for the monitoring, consolidation and reporting of internal controls, the full compliance with Marriott's policies, procedures and the international summary risk assessment. The expert uses strong analytical skills and finance knowledge to constantly monitor business in various properties managed by Marriott to identify opportunities and threats to business goals. He/She develops early warning systems to preempt or proactively inform and prompt the executive leadership team in order to address non-compliant hotels. This position will report to the General Managers of the hotels included in the scope.EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS Acts as a "safety-net" to ensure property leadership complies with internal controls requirements in a timely and accurate manner, meeting all assessments due dates. Develops and maintains tools to ensure compliance with critical internal controls of Marriott International for managed hotels. Coordinates a green score certification for all hotels on a quarterly basis, consolidate exceptions, analyze, and correct discrepancies to prepare final report for executive team. Partners with work group consisting of members across all departments to implement a standard policy addressing any risk in compliance. Coordinates with work group on the process and procedures on each phase, document and create a guideline tool to ensure hotels are aligned to the established policies. Partners with Finance Dept and deliver training to all departments with related compliance matters, such as Cash and Accounting Controls, Balance Sheet Risks, HR, Maintenance, Rooms and F&B control assessments. Manages the Shared Service process by facilitating review with all hotels included in the project scope, conducts periodic recertification. Conducts surveys of hotels, consolidate, analyze and summarize information to gain better visibility of specific contract compliance matters. Examples include tax application in certain counties, common clauses found in the management agreements, and Corporate & Regional Travel caps vs. how hotels deploy these requirements in practice. CANDIDATE PROFILE Knowledge and Skills Experience with reading and understanding Marriott International policies and standards. Strong system skills and process thinking. Thorough knowledge of the principles, procedures, and techniques of accounting, and of financial records and transactions including, but not limited to, generally accepted accounting principles. Developed accounting, finance and analytical skills including experience with cash management, audits, and project management skills. Demonstrates ability to evaluate business risks to comply with all MI policies and standards. Resourceful in resolving issues and solving problems, leveraging resources to get results. Translates business needs into what needs to get done; ensures that all work is completed effectively; maintains high performance standard; works effectively by using a highly collaborative style. Minimum Job Specifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field; successful completion of intermediate accounting required.
