With annual revenue exceeding $40 billion and the largest investment in R&D in the industry, we give our people the resources and chances to create significant contributions to the world.Our Fisher Scientific channel keeps science moving forward by offering over 2 million products and extensive support services to the scientific research, healthcare and science education markets.The Trade position is vital to ensure that the requirements and business processes associated with the cross-border movements, run efficiently whilst ensuring that any risks are identified and handled optimally.What will you do?Ensure that all import and export activities align with the applicable laws and regulations, minimizing the risk of fines and penalties.Classification of products, commodity codes and Dual Use RegulationsFacilitating import transactions – this includes importing goods from outside the EU/UK & providing classifications and instructions to freight forwarders.Consulting with internal departments and functions to make sure procedures are followedLiaising with and consulting with customers (internal and external to the company)Support the company's compliance program by participating in internal and external auditsHow will you get here?Previous experience working with imports and exports in a distribution or manufacturing environment.Strong knowledge of commodity code classifications.Strong customer management skills (internal and external).Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesStrong communication skills – verbal, written, presentation.Facility to work on your own initiative.Comfortable working on multicultural teamAbility to work with and influence a wide range of levels in organisation, establishing positive working relationships.Capability to remain up-to-date with the constantly evolving landscape of trade regulations, tariffs, and sanctions imposed by various countries.At Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our 70,000 extraordinary minds has a unique story to tell.
